      AVOID! Stuffy corp finance firm masquerading as a fintech - Client Service Representative Flagstone Employee Review

      Pros

      There are some ambitious, smart people here. An interesting product with high-growth potential. Office location is great.

      Cons

      Salaries far below market rate. Long hours with no recognition or reward for it. Don't even think about bringing up a career development planning with managers - they are not interested and almost offended by it. Autocratic management style with a managing partner who interrupts, talks over people and is very condescending. There are no channels for giving feedback and there is complete lack of transparency from senior leaders. So this toxic culture will continue at speed. The old school IB culture is strong here, along with all the politics and favoritism that go with it. If you want a rewarding and innovative startup environment where ideas and contribution are valued- avoid Flagstone at all cost.

I’m sorry to hear you feel we are a long way off getting it “right” – we are still at the very early stages of our growth, and it’s right for us to acknowledge that there are, and will be, some growing pains along the way.       Pros

      The company appears to have achieved what many organisations consider impossible... creating bureaucracy while maintaining startup levels of chaos.

      Cons

      Engineering culture can be surprisingly hostile. Discussions frequently become dominated by the loudest, most cynical voices rather than the most constructive ones. Collaboration often resembles an intellectual cage fight where the prize is winning an argument nobody needed to have. Morale is predictably poor. An eNPS score of approximately -80 does not feel like a metric requiring further investigation. Excessive pessimism and negativity make it difficult for motivated engineers to remain motivated.

      Culture - a caring and supportive environment. Regular engagement and inclusion activities, giving back opportunities and general fun. Ambitious - always striving to improve and iterate through a number of initiatives across the organisation

      Cons

      With ambition comes regular and often intense change. This isn’t an environment for everyone.
