Pros

There was an employee assistance program and a fund. Philanthropic efforts were admirable. These and any other perceived positives are not enough to warrant “sticking it out” — there are very few pros to accepting a position at the office when factoring in pay, career growth, management, and the executive team. Benefits are OK; however, in my experience they were often cited to justify below-market pay for both field personnel and office staff. From my experience, leadership advancement appeared to favor men, with few women represented at the manager level or above.

Cons

During my time there, leadership operated as a good old boys’ club. This culture materially limited advancement opportunities. In my experience, promotions were driven more by alignment with leadership than by performance or results.
