Pros

- Great sense of camaraderie across the business – from CEO to staff on the front lines. Everyone will get involved to get the job done. - Good opportunities for progression, across business areas, if you work hard and are liked by SMT. - Ability to work cross-functionally on new initiatives. - If client facing, ability to work with high profile global banks and firms. - Close links with Fitch Group allows good benefits and Group mobility. Provided with great training initiatives, steered by Fitch Group - Hybrid working environment, 2 days a week in the London office - Free fruit on 2 days of the week

Cons

- Very few people remain in the business (we’re talking a handful) who understand how the business and the systems work, with no documentation for most departments, leaving staff to figure it all out for themselves. - Systems are archaic, there is appetite to improve these, but the wrong people have been given the reins to lead on the projects. These people have no knowledge of how the systems work together or the basic processes used in Operations. It’s then the responsibility of the employees with the knowledge to fix the mistakes or learn to live with an even more complex process than what was there to begin with. - Recent senior hires do not have the “all hands on deck” mentality. There is a reluctance to ‘do’ any real work which puts pressure on their teams and department. - Toxic environment has been created by new senior hires which has resulted in staff morale plummeting. Staff retention is at an all-time low, staff are leaving in droves and there seems to be a leaving card circulated every couple of weeks. - Staff leave and it is questioned if the role needs to be backfilled. It doesn’t take a genius to see that if staff work overtime every day routinely, at the bare minimum, the business needs the roles replaced! Quite often, roles are not backfilled, and are split amongst the remaining employees across the business until they are working 12-hour days with no recognition or comp review. - When there is work that you cannot complete that you have inherited ‘temporarily’ due to FL not wanting to backfill, senior management will chastise you for this, and will expect you to work more overtime even though you are already working 12-hour days. - When roles are approved for backfill, senior management have a reluctance to hire as they want to achieve their targets of cost reduction to ensure they get their executive bonus. - Staff will often work at weekends with no acknowledgement and no concern over staff mental health or wellbeing. - Highly stressful environment, some staff have been signed off sick with stress, which has been mocked by some new senior hires. (The same ones who don’t ‘do’ any work) - Although it is a hybrid working environment, being in the office is almost like you’re serving community service where people are scared to speak around senior management. The silence is deafening. - Salary way below market rate, we’re talking a good 15-25K lower. - What was once a fair, friendly and fun place to work is now the complete opposite. New senior hires have made it hard for working parents, females particularly, or anyone who needs some flexibility for a good work/life balance. It is not the Fitch Learning it used to be.

Pros

There are no pros please don’t subject yourself to such a horrible work environment

Cons

Toxic leadership. You will be talked down to as if you’re unintelligent should you make one mistake. HR will not listen to you or provide a solution when you express that your leader is creating a hostile work environment. Lead flow is poor and goals are high and Unachievable. No proper training or guidance as well. Most of the time you’re lead to figure it out yourself. No room for growth at all.
