Not bold enough to communicate layoff decision to the employees in writing. Holding surreptious video call and informing that if you send a one liner resignation mail, we give you so much (gratuity, notice pay, severeance, leave encashment etc) but no communication in writing. Access to system is removed immediately after the call. If any one trusts it and resigns then there is no guarantee that their oral offer of compensation will be honoured by HR. On the other hand, the HR may try to recover pay for notice period saying it is your resignation. Till few years ago, Fiserv used to be very employee friendly but after merging with First Data, it is growing down by losing very experienced SMEs
