Pros
Firsthand is one of the few early-stage companies I've worked at where the leadership team truly knows what they're doing. The founders and executives have built successful companies before, and that experience shows in the decisions they make every day. There's a level of focus, maturity, and strategic thinking that helps the company avoid many of the common startup pitfalls. The product itself is genuinely exciting. It's rewarding to work on something that customers love and that feels differentiated in the market. The culture is another standout. People work hard and move quickly, but there is a strong emphasis on sustainability and balance. This isn't a "burnout for growth" environment. Leadership recognizes that employees have lives outside of work, and the company is especially supportive of parents and caregivers. People care about each other, collaboration is valued, and culture isn't treated as an afterthought.
Cons
The company moves fast, and that pace won't be for everyone. Priorities can evolve quickly as the business grows, and employees need to be comfortable with change and ambiguity. Those looking for a slower-moving or highly structured environment may find it challenging.
