Pros

A good company to work for, you really feel as though they take a vested interest in the care and well-being of their employees. The company is organized and strategic in the way it approaches tasks and goals, which makes it easy to follow a string of logic for why we are, or are not, doing something. A lot of people have been with the company for 10, 20, even 30 years, which I think speaks to the culture, especially nowadays when people seem to jump jobs every few years. The company does an annual meeting every year where you get to meet the rest of the company and there's also an annual family outing which is always fun and gives your family a chance to meet your coworkers (people you spend the whole year talking about at home over the dinner table--and vice versa telling your coworkers all about your kids, etc). There is some flexibility in hours--this is site specific--but if you need to come in at 8:30 instead of 9:00 or leave at 4:30 or 5:30 instead of 5:00, this can be negotiated with the managers. As long as you're honest and upfront about any mistakes that you make they are understanding and won't bite your head off and will work with you to make sure the mistakes don't happen again. Encourages promoting from within. Encourages CEU's.

Cons

It's a busy job, a busy industry. So the days are often spent "go-go-go" and there's not a lot of "down time" but this should be expected for any high-performing company.

Pros

You do get some holidays off.

Cons

Maybe other management offices are different, but here everyone just seems miserable. Whenever a resident comes with any issue, big or small, the reaction is anywhere from annoyance to outright hostility. There is no advocating for tenants because company policy is designed against them as well. Rent is raised arbitrarily via an algorithm without any care or human oversight, but the company is more than happy to squeeze more money out of places like BHA and Metro. Workers will mock residents for not being able to afford the rent. Don't work here if you value empathy or basic decency towards others.
