Lack of management at times.

Everyone outside of management is really nice.

Yikes. Where to start? This organization is extremely disorganized and fosters a very toxic company culture. They have a high turnover rate, despite being a smaller organization. The organization itself has been operating for more than 40 years, but the amount of money and projects they manage has grown exponentially over the last few years. There were a few red flags that I gave them the benefit of the doubt on, because I figured they were just growing pains, but that was a big mistake. Management is definitely aware of how they mistreat their employees but they all subscribe to the same callous and egotistical style of leadership. If you advocate for yourself or any type of work/life balance, they'll fire you without even batting an eye. Fellow colleagues informed me that my small team alone had seen several employees come and go over the last year. They advertise a "4 day work week" but you will no doubt be expected to work over the weekend and travel during it as well. The pay would be good if you truly only worked 4 days a week, but it is just a way for them to overwork and underpay you disguised as progressive policies. I would say that their self-image is what they are actually most concerned about. This can be seen through their gaudy social media posts and the empty mission/values they proclaim on their website. Do not let it fool you. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews about this place after finding out how many people have gone through the organization. Nearly everyone that I talked to that has either worked for or with FNDI, was left with a sour taste in their mouth. This shared experience is also how I was able to connect with many fellow employees in my short time at the organization. The work the organization does is meaningful and good, but they use that to hide how terribly they treat their employees as individuals. It could be a really cool place to work, but that's unfortunately tarnished by leadership's incompetence and inability to effectively manage. If you do decide to work here, just know that your employment is not safe by any means and rocking the boat in any fashion will put you at risk for termination, and it is a very easy boat to rock. No matter how long you have been employed by them or what you have given to the organization.
