Pros

I loved working with the kids and the parents. Full time usually got 40 hours a week or pretty close and it was a set schedule. Full time always got a good day time schedule.

Cons

Out of all the child care centers I have worked at this was by far the lowest paying job I had. I remember when I interviewed they didn't even think I would take the job. But here's the real kicker, when I left they said terrible things about me to my face and even worse things behind my back. I was always up front with them about how I felt and what I needed in order to stay on as an employee. I even stayed longer than I ever expected to work there because I enjoyed my job and I loved my kids. The management talks behind everyone's back. The managers would name call kids or treat them badly and also say things about parents behind their backs. I would never recommend anyone take their children here. The management's bad behavior rubs off on to all the staff. The environment is toxic which is also one of the biggest reasons I left. I started becoming someone I never wanted to be and it's because all the people around me were terrible people. There is absolutely no expectations for learning. Your kids are just going to play all day and this includes the preschool program. The toys there are busted, broken, old, and the daycare usually doesn't buy anything new for toys. They do expect parents to buy toys for the classroom at Christmas. When I left there were very few toys in any of the classrooms. The food program is a not USDA approved. The children receive adult size portions of food and the food choices are not well balanced. The teachers are not allowed to eat food with the kids. It all goes on the child's plates and in the garbage. Low pay, no health insurance, no benefits of any kind.
