Pros

Great teams to work with all very supportive and very willing to pass on their extensive knowledge. After working in a completely different industry for 24 years I was a bit dubious about starting with FHI but I’m am very glad I did, I have only be with them for a month now and have loved every minute of it. If you are willing to work you will reap the benefits. The management team are very supportive and more than willing to help you succeed.

Cons

I haven’t found a downside to the job, you get to meet lots of new people and make money at the same time, what’s not to like!

Pros

Family owned, very intimate, no large corporate overlord.

Cons

Not as streamlined as some of the bigger roofing companies. Not enough sales people.

Pros

Onwer was a super honest guy. We had multiple instances where competitors did some shady stuff to try and steal our sales and the owner just refused to step down to their level. From a sales rep perspective it kinda sucked losing a potential sale but looking back at it, it was nice knowing there were some honest people out there. It's a small family owned business so you get to know everyone in the office really well which is nice. The owner would always try to reward is whenever we did well in sales. Took us to a cubs game once and would reguraly buy us lunch and stuff. The pay is 100% determined on your motivations as a sales rep. If you're hustling out there you will make more money than most of your friends at desk jobs. If not, you're going to leave disappointed (see cons). It's a seasonal industry so the guys that hustled during the summer were always vacationing during the winter months. One guy on our team was sending pics of some world cruise he was going on. I was able to take my girlfriend out on some nice dates and we did a little bit of domestic traveling but nothing too crazy.

Cons

The industry is cut throat. There are hundreds of contractors out there doing shady work. You have to work your way past all that BS and then convince a homeowner that they should work with you over Shady XYZ Company. It can be draining especially when you're outside all day walking knocking on doors. I made pretty decent pay doing it, but to be fair I didn't really give it all the effort that some of the other guys did. There were some guys that signed up and just didn't have what it takes to accept denial daily. Guys would lose motivation quickly and quit. For a newcomer in the industry, it can be draining getting doors slammed in your face, meanwhile, some guy on your team is pulling in six figure commisions and killing it. You'll see a lot of guys come in and out of the door. Just like with any other cold sales gig, there's going to be guys who are made out for it and guys that aren't. I wouldn't recommend the job for anyone who's uncomfortable with constant rejection.
