Pros

- flexible hours; you can take on as many students as you can handle in the moment; student-tutor schedules usually always work out - location is never too far; director tries her best to assign you to students in your area - director is understanding of situations out of your control and always gives advice on how to improve and/or approach students who may need a little extra help; provides additional resources - director always pays her tutors on time; you get paid even if the student isn't home (director doesn't waste your time) - company is serious and only hires the best; during the interview, the director looks to see if you can teach and explain concepts in simple terms (in contrast to companies who only care about how you look on paper and your scores)

Cons

- nothing that I can think of

Pros

It’s a really small business, ran by a super nice lady named Lori. I love that I don’t have to answer to a bunch of managers or higher-ups and I like the freedom of being an independent contractor. As long as I show up when I’m scheduled to everything is super chill and I love the kids most of all.

Cons

The only thing I don’t like is having to say goodbye to a student.

Pros

I have worked as a Math and Science tutor for First Class Tutors for seven years and really enjoy it. It is a rewarding part time job with a lot of flexibility. In order to be hired, you have to demonstrate that you have thorough subject knowledge and an ability to teach. I have always been paid on time and would recommend the job. - Flexible schedule - Competitive pay - Relationships with students and family - Rewarding to help students raise their grades and gain confidence. I work a day job in Orange County and Lori (CEO) will always find me students that are close to my work or on my route home so I don't have to do much extra driving.

Cons

Tax filing does cost a bit more since you work as a contractor, but all materials, miles, and vehicle expenses can be deducted. Works well for me since all my students are along my commute from home to my full-time day job.
