Firetide is owned by Unicom Global, which is a shell corporation that has bought up many distressed brands over the years (Old IBM legacy software for AS400's, US Robotics, etc.) and uses the revenue stream off these products to fund the owners private real-estate ventures. They reinvest $0 in new products and resources to increase sales and revenue.
They hire and maintain those employees who are lazy and passive (think Sheep) that are happy with the status quo so getting anything new done is nearly impossible.
The product lines have absolutely no relationship to each other so there is synergies between business units.
