Pros

A truly inviting and loving culture. It really feels like you are a part of a family. On average a slightly older average employee age providing a more mature, relaxed working environment. A CEO that truly cares about the company, always willing to talk to anyone about anything. Engages with his employees as much as he can. Comes across as very genuine and caring. Christmas is a free for all holiday period for the whole company. Everything shuts down, everyone goes home. HR team is easily the best HR team I've ever encountered in my career. Professional and serious when required but generally very relaxed, understanding and supportive. Doesn't create busy work for themselves to justify their existence. Tries their hardest to make their employees lives easier. Everyone can contribute as much to projects as they are prepared to put in. If you shine, your effort will be rewarded. They will give you the chance to make your mark if you demonstrate initiative and they seem to genuinely appreciate effort and enthusiasm.

Cons

Project development times seemed unrealistic. Only the senior execs know if this is because we are over promising or if 2K's demands are unrealistic. Not a lot of room for mistakes and iteration - which are essential. Lacks the fresh blood necessary to develop anything beyond it's core IP's. What it does it does great. Anything outside of those products spells trouble. There seemed to be a slow reduction in the vibrancy and enthusiasm the company once had. Many of its longer term employees seem to have grown bored doing the same thing every year and the unrealistic project times seem to have ground many down. When moral was especially low, it seemed it was due to projects encountering exactly the same obstacles and mistakes over and over without actually learning from these mistakes and avoiding them in the next projects. A lack of clear vision in some of the projects meant that rather than creating games we wanted to play, it felt like we were creating projects to fill schedules. No discernible convictions in the projects, making them feel forced and frustrated. Be prepared to document every tiny minutia. Its painstaking, inhibits work flow and proved extremely frustrating.

Pros

A great inclusive place to work where the team is fun to work with and listens to feedback.

Cons

Not the most stable job, but that is the games industry overall.

Pros

If working on site, most of the the people are great to work with.

Cons

The environment used to be very collaborative, no longer. Production does not listen to engineering causing issues with deliveries. This was the main reason why the UI for Civ7 was so crappy when it shipped. Upper management is mostly absent from day to day operations and seems interested in only advancing their own careers by creating new 3 letter terms. Upper management is no longer on site, its located in N.C. Upper management is convinced AI will allow them to make games by saving time. While AI can do a lot of tasks, it can't define or create FUN. Sadly that feature "FUN" will be what is sacrificed in order to keep a budget and make a schedule.
