Pros

Loyal to a fault. If you stay there 10 years they will let you stay forever. You get to work on extremely fun games like Civ and X-Com. You can bounce gameplay ideas off their excellent game designers including the incomparable Sid Meier. Very laid back atmosphere unlike most stress-filled west coast game jobs.

Cons

Their programmers ranks are dwindling and while very talented they are overwhelmed. The tools available can be a pain to work with. Their loyalty cuts both ways if you are not a "made man" you could be the victim of a belt-tightening by 2K. 2K seems to be more inclined to dictate projects and layoffs than in years past.

Pros

A great inclusive place to work where the team is fun to work with and listens to feedback.

Cons

Not the most stable job, but that is the games industry overall.

Pros

If working on site, most of the the people are great to work with.

Cons

The environment used to be very collaborative, no longer. Production does not listen to engineering causing issues with deliveries. This was the main reason why the UI for Civ7 was so crappy when it shipped. Upper management is mostly absent from day to day operations and seems interested in only advancing their own careers by creating new 3 letter terms. Upper management is no longer on site, its located in N.C. Upper management is convinced AI will allow them to make games by saving time. While AI can do a lot of tasks, it can't define or create FUN. Sadly that feature "FUN" will be what is sacrificed in order to keep a budget and make a schedule.
