Pros
-Independence given to solve engineering project work the way you like. -Good hands on experience with equipment and processes. -Exposure to basic elements of engineering procedures and QMS. -GM was very likeable and had a good understanding of applying theoretical business principles in the workplace.
Cons
-Salary structure is very obscure, less qualified individuals make more money than they should be making. Initial salary offers are not consistent with individuals with similar qualifications and experience. Management and HR does not recognize real talent and thus are stuck with mediocre individuals and success. -Poor understanding of how to make hard working employees feel valued in a company and create learning opportunities for their growth and long term success. -Management has no clue about engineering fundamentals, enforcing accountability and how to consistently capitalize on opportunities to obtain success. Consistent daily production failure has become a norm in the company, with no care to fix the actual problems. -Too much people trying to save their own behind and throw others under the bus, without understanding what "teamwork" actually means and working together to create company success as a team. -Many things go on behind closed doors and often there are situations where individuals like to take credit for the success of others. -Very unprofessional managers that use deragatory comments in the workplace. -Too many high paid corporate employees that offer little value to the actual problems in the workplace and lack real problem-solving abilities to create success.
