Pros

The management here are really friendly and are eager to provide interns with work. The structure of the internship is informal which is either a positive thing or a negative thing depending on how you look at it. The internship is basically what you make out of it. if you keep asking them for work they will give it to you. However if you don't, you may find yourself sitting and doing nothing for hours. As an intern there, I got excellent exposure to DC's federal regulatory agencies and was able to meet with several regulators and financial industry members during a conference that the Financial Services Roundtable organized.

Cons

I was not provided with an opportunity to advance to a permanent position. If you want a permanent position with the roundtable, I suggest making that clear from the beginning and working on obtaining that position throughout your internship.

Pros

Very good benefits. Some managers are understanding and encourage career growth. Great office location and even fairly junior people often have spacious offices. Good promotion potential for talented entry level folks willing to put in a few years. Often hire from intern classes.

Cons

Some in upper management have bad tempers and treat subordinates with barely concealed disdain. Hard to get behind some of the organization's lobbying positions.
