This is probably the most challenging company I have ever worked for in my 20 year career. The product suite is too broad for the number of employees we have. The expectation to work beyond normal hours is encouraged. The CEO boasted on one call that he had worked 110 hours for the past week, and he felt great. He also dropped a message that we could all tell our grandchildren that we were part of making Filevine the greatest legal tech company.
That is not what I want my family or grandchildren to know about me. I work to support them - not to offer them a legacy of business accomplishments.
There is no proactive measure from HR or really anyone to shape the culture intentionally. It's just a big, reactive machine that will eat you alive unless you protect yourself.
I don't mind working hard. I like working. But when I am treated like a necessary robotic part of a large money making machine, it feels very dehumanizing.
