Pros

Team are nice, casual working environment and work from home Fridays. Some nice perks such as discounted product and staff sale

Cons

Where do I begin? No real company benefits such as enhanced maternity pay. For a company that claims to support women this is shocking. I personally submitted the question to be answered at the company meeting multiple times and it was ignored.  You get one extra day holiday for every FIVE years continuous service.... modern companies are normally giving out sabbaticals by this point or the usual one day for every year. They are not paying out bonuses so it means nothing in your package Office environment is scummy. Toilets were out of order for months. Kitchen felt unclean HR presence is not felt by employees they often avoided any opportunity to hear from the team e.g. in feedback meetings and avoided presenting results of company surveys (I wonder why). There were numerous HR issues that were dealt with unprofessionally e.g office bullying cases and claims of racism.  There is an element of unconscious bias here towards members of the team which needs addressing too. In order to do this though you need a HR team that are in touch with employees and generally cares.  This place has a real toxic working environment that seems to be hidden under a stained carpet. There is very much a respect your elders approach here rather than respect for someone's industry experience where people have been asked to essentially be quiet because they are debating with someone in their 40s and someone in their 20s should back down (even though they are coming from a point of knowledge, data and experience).  I have witnessed many times the belittlement of team members and general rudeness to others which is let slide because the perpetrator has been with the business for so long or is "older" this is not ok - and anyone reading this will know what/who I'm referring to No real direction from senior management, just quantity of projects not quality and so teams are extremely stretched to the point of working ridiculously long hours and into weekends. Senior management team seem to be dictating personal projects that they find interesting even at the detriment of the business and so your time is spent on things that are unlikely to add value Processes are a mess, Christmas planning is a nightmare and always a scramble. Seems like they can't agree on creative OR strategic direction which causes major confusion. There are always changes which is fine and expected in eCommerce but decisions are made without team input and for some reason it's a surprise when things like tech infrastructure aren't actually in place for us to execute well There is an awful finger pointing culture here and a lack of ownership. God forbid anything goes wrong, collaboration for a solution goes out the window when it comes to senior members.  It's left to management level and their teams to struggle through. If it weren't for some of these teams the business wouldn't be going today The list goes on and on...
