Pros

The customers are for the most part good and there are a lot of great people that work there. It's very community involved given they are a local company, which sets a good tone for the work environment. I enjoyed working with the customers knowing I was making a positive impact on their well beings. They provide free staff samples mostly in supplements and seldom grocery. You will learn a plethora of information regarding health and wellness in this job, which I see to be valuable. There are also dinner trainings provided to learn more about a brand and certain products they sell, usually only taking place in the warmer seasons.

Cons

They are not very flexible with scheduling, seems to be little value in work/life balance. The workload can be stressful and demanding at times during peak hours and double points days. I personally know myself and others to have not received training on the supplement aspect of the job, which is detrimental to quality customer service here. They provide no training past operating the point of sales. Granted they have dinner trainings, but as they are seasonal and usually gauged at learning about a brand and one or two specific products that they sell, they can only go so far. I was fully dependent on doing my own research and the help of coworkers to learn about a large variety of supplements. In my time at Feel Rite I also saw a large turnover rate, most people leaving at will and a good majority being fired or written up over very inane things, that being said it doesn't leave much potential for a long term job or growth in the company. Sales are at upmost importance, above you as an employee, you are quickly made to feel disposable. Your knowledge and work ethic can feel very disregarded. Upper management is very cut throat and cold, those in management and corporate, do not care for you as an individual. Very unfriendly, unsupportive, and there is a ton of micromanaging. There's remotely no communication, notices of change are incredibly short notice and poor planned. For a health and wellness shoppe, you would be under the impression that it's a positive and uplifting environment, and is generally the complete opposite here. That being said, they are seemingly very inconsiderate of sudden health concerns that require time off, which you would also think to be supported and understood in this kind of company. Really any sudden need for time off is met very backhanded. Planned time off is usually accommodated 99% of the time, but don't be surprised when that is held over your head, so don't expect to be refreshed from that vacation you took for too long after returning to work. But hey you get a PTO day for your Birthday! (After the first year of employment)

Pros

Positive Work Environment: The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. My colleagues are passionate about their work and often go out of their way to help one another. This camaraderie makes for a great team dynamic. Customer Interaction: Interacting with customers who are enthusiastic about health and wellness is rewarding. Many are eager to learn more about products, and it feels good to be part of their journey. Product Variety: The range of organic and health-focused products available is impressive. Working here has expanded my knowledge about nutrition and wellness products, which I appreciate both personally and professionally. Community Involvement: Feel-Rite is actively involved in the local community, hosting events and workshops that promote healthy living. It feels good to work for a company that gives back and supports local initiatives.

Cons

Workload: At times, the workload can be demanding, especially during peak hours or sales events. It can get hectic, but it’s manageable with a good team. Training: While initial training is provided, ongoing training could be more robust, especially regarding new products and wellness trends. More investment in staff education would enhance customer service.
