Long-term current employees are sitting pretty, while the rest of us work. Easy to hide, if you are not ambitious and/or willing to work.
Cons
The nature of my work is to assist with change. While I can help my Agile team, the program and ART level people are not making decisions and not developing fundamental processes. Even the simplest, most IT foundational decisions have not been made in an ART that has been running for 2+ years. (i.e. release management, defect management). The development work environments go done routinely because management has not even declared where the developers & testers should work. Never worked for a company that does not see environments down as an urgent fix. Too many decisions left to contracting company. While the FTE sit back and complain. Company is not even in the cloud yet. Company is ‘remote’ in theory. Constant talk about Memphis, even though we are supposed to be globally dispersed.
