Pros

It’s a physical job, there’s a lot of moving around so you’re not stuck at a desk all day. Theres no office culture, you don’t have to constantly kiss up to your boss or pretend you care about what happened to Susan’s annoying kids over the weekend. The job is fast paced, as long as it’s busy time will fly by. The other managers are nice and fun to talk to, and most of upper management is pretty decent as well. Every once and a while the managers will be switched around the building, so you never get too bored or complacent in one area. Also the company only hires from within, so as long as you are good at your job you will eventually move up. And hey! No degree required!

Cons

You never really know how busy it’s going to be until you come in, workflow can change drastically from day to day. Worker turnover can be high so you might end up having to train and re-train new employees. Full time positions are scarce so chances are you’re going to have to work part time for a while. Some of the equipment is super old and broken, you won’t always have enough scanners for your area. If there is an emergency shift over the weekend you are required to come in if they tell you to.

Pros

Beat the traffic to and from work. You get a combination of active work walking around the warehouse and office work at a computer.

Cons

When express and ground merged, some of the admins decided they weren't going to do any of the new express tasks that needed to be done. Management either didn't seem to notice or did not care as they never intervened or addressed this disparity. A coworker with my same job title was in the air conditioned office all day, working on tasks that were not a priority while I was getting slammed with work that was required for my position. If that is what management wanted, that is fine. But it was never addressed to the team. Management doesn't address or care about these things as long as someone does it.
