If you are single then management is for you, otherwise you may never see your family. Be wary of poor upper managers. - Service Manager II FedEx Employee Review

Pros

The best reason to work for this company is for the excellent benefits.

Cons

The pay is not very good compared to UPS which I have worked at as well. The standard work week for managers is 50-60. If you have a good sr manager then life can be good, likewise I had a very poor sr manager that made life miserable. Our PandD Manager was very good, I respected him a lot, very easy to talk to, and I wish he was the sr manager instead. Ground contractor drivers cry a lot. I was surprised when I found out that most still have to use a map after having been on their route for several years. UPS drivers know their routes in the first 3 months by heart. In fairness to the drivers there were a few contractor owners that were very professional and great to get along with which made my job a lot easier. I was surprised to know that even though drivers get paid by the box and by the stop, they get upset because most of them only want to take out so much per day. They don't treat themselves as a business but rather employees which makes their life harder.

Pros

Great flexibility with scheduling, which makes it incredibly easy to balance with school or other external commitments. The team environment is supportive, and the management generally respects your availability

Cons

The physical workload can be quite demanding and tiring, especially during peak seasons. Depending on the shift, communication across different teams can sometimes feel a bit unorganized.

Pros

Easy to apply, fast to get hired (no interview process) and the pay

Cons

Very rude management, lack of care for safety, no drinkable water (all filters are in the red and have been since I started) They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you but say you can’t bring your own phone in because “people steal them”? There is junk everywhere. Lots of trash everywhere (employees drinks and food). They want you to work and eat on the line instead of giving you breaks to do so. They get upset when you use the bathroom or fill your water bottle even if you’ve been working for 3 hours straight but if you clock in at an area 2 min walking distance from your work area you’re “stealing time” I’ve noticed people of color get treated differently. The HR department has some of the most prejudice employees so there’s no real equality if you have conflict with someone. I’ve never been, but it feels like a prison to go in and out of the building and lastly you don’t work a consistent schedule. You leave when they say you can.
