Pros

Talented team members who support each other.

Cons

Whilst claiming to stand by their B-corp certification, there is little regard to staff wellbeing at Fat Beehive. The senior management communication is often threatening and agressive, and goes against everything they claim the company stands for. Furthermore, the CEO makes business decisions based on personal grounds as to who they do/don't like, dismissing employees unfairly and without notice. Their vindictive actions will inevitably be the downfall of an "ethical" company, claiming to make the world a better place. Despite some fantastic team members, sadly the potential of Fat Beehive will never be reached under current senior management.

Fat Beehive Response

We do stand by our BCorps values and have always treated staff fairly. No company dismisses people lightly, and no company wants to lose good people. We explain all decisions and report finances monthly to the whole team. All decisions are based on what is best for the company and are aligned with our values. No one has ever been unfairly dismissed or without a proper notice period (although we do allow people to take pay instead of working their notice if they wish). We have indeed been much tougher on performance management and quicker to move on underperforming staff, however, staff numbers have grown from 30 to 36 over the last 12 months and we have recruited some excellent new people to join a really fantastic team.

Pros

Besides the heads of a company, people are nice to work with

Cons

I hesitated to write this review, but after my experience, I feel it's necessary to warn others. The CEO's behavior is unacceptable—employees are frequently harassed and stalked via emails, often involving a lawyer to intimidate staff about leaving reviews or sharing honest feedback. This creates a culture of fear and intimidation throughout the company. The company claims to be flexible and understanding, but this is far from the truth. Employees are subjected to constant monitoring and forced to sign daily attendance sheets, which destroys any sense of trust. The so-called flexibility is just a hollow promise. On top of this, the company is extremely unstable, with constant salary and benefit cuts, as well as a revolving door of hiring and firing. People rarely last longer than a year here, making it impossible to feel secure in your job. There is no loyalty to employees or even clients—the focus is solely on lining the CEO's and upper management’s pockets. They don't care about providing quality service; it's all about maximizing profits at any cost. To make matters worse, the company has a high turnover rate, and when people leave, their workload is dumped on the remaining staff without support or compensation, leaving employees overwhelmed and burnt out. Avoid this company at all costs!
