Would not work here as a groomer, you will be overworked and the pay isn’t enough for the work you do. - Anonymous employee FastAir Employee Review

Pros

You get a chance to become an apprentice and that’s about it.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. They hold them selves at such a high standard but don’t give proper training on how to clean properly. They don’t like you doing overtime but want you to finish everything at a high standard in a short amount of time. Would not recommend working here unless you’re ok with being taken advantage of. Also many problems with management, one example is that they did not raise my pay after my probation period which is 3 months until my 6th or 7th month working there and when I notified them about it, they said “you’re new here you shouldn’t keep asking about it” it’s my pay and it’s on a contract but of course they don’t care.

Pros

Do not work here there is nothing good about this place. Fast Air is the definition of bias, if you are the favourite one you will be offered more opportunities (doesn’t matter if you are actually good at your job) anyways you can work there but just know the employment laws and your rights as a worker and enjoy your Federal minimum wage position.

Cons

There is probably a million things I could say about this company. None of them which are good. Management is not trained to be managers or have any previous experience. a major reason why there is high retention from Fast Air because of the inappropriate behaviour from management. The wages they offer are extremely low and do not reflect what is asked in their job descriptions for many of the positions. As someone who previously worked there most things are over looked upon unless it is a major threat to the organization. For an example HR does not exist or is involved in what is going on in different departments. If there is high turnover and a significant increase in morale, the purpose to go investigate as HR would be beneficial. As per what the role is called “HR works for the company not the employee” wouldn’t you be concerned of everything that is going on and try to make a change in management that way you aren’t exposed to a law suit. Many employees all over Canada do not know their employee rights, this makes employers able to get away with things that are shady. I would not be shocked if there is an employee rights that Fast Air does not acknowledge. For any future employees remember the employer has no right to take off any damages of off your pay. You do not require to buy a uniform if it isn't a must for the purpose of the job. If they require you to wear a uniform they need to provide it to you and not deduct any pay from your salary. Remember your rights as an employee. You are allowed to refuse work if you believe it causes an danger or you are not properly trained. So when they ask you to pick up biohazards, that’s illegal.

Pros

Lots of good people and quite an easy job

Cons

Management is slow to act on critical issues, lead groomer makes employees work in poor work conditions. Lots of overtime due to poor communication and leadership skills.
