Pros
Team members were the best. Friendly, helpful, backing one another up during rough/hectic days in the store. Can use staff discount on sale items, which is rare in retail companies. Good pay, for the position in a retail industry.
Cons
- Unappreciative AM, who lists down expectations but when they are met for the next visit, never thanks the staffs. - No annual pay increments, who work so hard and put so much effort and dedication and passion into their tasks. Annual pay increment only applies to management staffs despite the fact that normal staffs are putting in the most effort. - Maximum 12 items per month for staff purchases. So we can’t share our staff discount with family members and friends, if we use up the discount for ourselves. Certain companies have a limit of 25 items per month while some have unlimited staff purchases to encourage employees’ family members and friends to buy. - No work life balance, due to ever changing roster, just to “meet company’s operational needs”. Off days/shift timings can change at the last minute, like a day before, sometimes without prior notice. - Constant cutting of hours and running store operations and processing deliveries on limited manpower. - Too much budget cuts that it affects store’s productivity. - Poor supply chain management because stores are constantly overstocked on both the selling floor and the stock room. - Doesn’t seem willing to apply for paywave machines, which would speed up cashier’s job at processing payments, due to “high costs” of applying for one. - POS is unreliable and keeps crashing/slowing down during peak trading periods.
