Pros

Rewards and bonuses for meeting goals are great. Some really great employees who are very overqualified for their positions. Opportunity to move up and they promote from within consistently. Some retail branches are great to work for and others are not (many differences among many branches).

Cons

A lot of responsibility and work load for not a lot of pay. High school like environment within retail branches (they try to have a team environment, but this doesn't work very well with all the gossip). Lots of differences in employee capabilities (such as, an employee not knowing how to copy and paste a picture, computer literacy should be required at time of hire). Many employees who work 3 times as hard as others but with less pay and recognition. Employees with the most sales are recognized even if they don't perform operations correctly or within regulation. Management praising team work one day, next day stating that the team is losing control of the branch (when management should be in control of the branch). Hard time to take any personal time or vacation without scrutiny from management as to why you need it. Required to stay extra hours whether you are able to or not without any notice. A lot of micromanagement and managers reviewing cameras to see who is arriving on time, who is eating, who is drinking, who is using their cell phone, who is on the internet, who is using the internal instant messaging system, etc. A lot of exceptions for employees and customers who may have personal relationships with managers (sometimes not following policy or regulation). Not enough staff for busy branches, too much staff at slow branches.
