Pros

We used to get free groceries and lunch, but they took that away.

Cons

There are a lot of things going wrong at Farmigo in California. We have lost key members of our management team over the past month which makes it very difficult for us to do our jobs. We have been told that the company has raised more money, yet we haven't seen any news verifying that. It seems that Farmigo is willing to burn through money as fast as it gets it. The CEO does not seem to be an honest person, and cares very little for the warehouse staff. Our previous manager fought to get us raises, but nothing has happened. It is very difficult to take care of a family on the wages that you make working in the warehouse. All staff members are kept part time so the company does not have to provide health benefits. The company seems like a great idea, but we really are just a middle man. When we don't have enough product, management just buys it from Whole Foods. Not really the local food that we advertise.

Pros

The office at Farmigo feels more like a coffeehouse than a corporate environment. Makes it a nice place to work each day. Team members are always willing to hangout during the day and vent about their workloads. Employee discount on groceries is a huge plus.

Cons

One of the main concerns that I have about Farmigo is the transparency about the future of the business. We were told that we had raised another round of venture backing in June, but there hasn't been any press or media coverage to confirm this. Usually when startups raise another round, they want people to know so as to prove that the company is on the right track. We are also expanding into a new market with Seattle before we have mastered how we do what we do in New York and Berkeley. The other issue with Farmigo is the pay is pretty lousy. Normally this expected at a startup, but we aren't even offered performance related bonuses. It feels like Farmigo wants you to burnout and will then replace you.
