Pros

I have partnered with Fancensus for over 15 years and now worked directly for them for just under 12 months. - A growing business. - A very friendly engaging work force. - Opportunities to progress, develop new skills and be actively engaged with the development of new products. - An agile company - Flexible working between work and office.

Cons

The offices are Cookham based near to the local train station; however for me personally the train timetable is fairly limited from where I live (+70 miles away) which prevents me using it as a service. I therefore have to rely on my car.

Pros

Easy work & some generally nice people you can work with.

Cons

The most toxic environment I've ever worked in. The Management are bullies who treat their employees like garbage. The amount of childish behaviour was unbelievable. Unorganised company with no real progression. Minimum wage with either the smallest pay increase or rewards you will be promised but never receive. Also zero benefits to make up for the lacking pay. Tedious work.

Pros

Fancensus has 2 offices. One in Blackpool for the devs and one in London. I was part of the dev team. - Dev team is really friendly. - You will be working on a legacy code. The project is quite big but your skills will increase considerably. - Lead dev is really talented, always open to help or redirect you in the right way if you struggle. - You can suggest new features or give your opinion easily. - Work hours can be flexible if you have some life commitment to attend. - Nice activities planned during Christmas and mid-year. - Our team was offered a free game once.

Cons

- Dev office not located in the most attractive area. You do have plenty of supermarket around but nothing else, not even a gym. - If you aren't from Blackpool you may struggle with time spent in traffic as it's quite a busy area and issues happen nearly every day. - South office management feels under a lot of stress and can sometimes struggle to understand tech issues. Also their frustration can lead to some passive-aggressive comments. - The pay isn't the best in comparison to the amount and nature of the work. - Language used by some staff members can be sometimes quite inappropriate. - Developers office doesn't have as much equipment as the South office. - Sick days are strictly not paid even if it's only one time. - If you can't or do not want to participate to a gathering day you won't get the day off. - Sometimes, info gets lost between our lead dev and the south office. Which can create some frustration among the management team. - The CEO can appear nice and welcoming but she also can share her frustration quite openly. If you cross her be ready to be watched closely for quite some time.
