Pros
If you're starting out as an EMT you can get great experience, especially working on CCT shifts. Fellow employees are great. Training opportunities are good but management forgets to log trainings, ultimately putting your license at risk. Your raise will offset the cost of your increasing insurance premium, that's not necessarily a pro.
Cons
Low Pay Required Overtime No time provided to complete call reports (hence required overtime). Constantly changing policies Rude HR No matching 401(k) If you get sick and you don't have vacation time, you get "dinged" and ultimately fired, even though it's probably a good idea not to transport critically ill patients while sick. This applies even when you get someone to cover your shift (what!?)
