Pros

Decent salary offering considering how much effort you actually had to put in. Good stepping stone.

Cons

All of the positive reviews here are fake, written by HR on your behalf. I left the company then low and behold a 5 star review was left on my behalf a week later. As an “advisor” (Project Manager in the real world) it was impossible to secure trades because invoices often ran into 6months due. Though to credit, salaries were never delayed. Micromanagement at it’s finest. There are meetings about meetings that don’t actually achieve anything. If you have the faintest knowledge of actual construction, the work you’ll do here will bore you to tears and drive you insane with the processes they demand you follow. Staff turnover here is no joke but at least the long termers are friendly.

Pros

As an immigrant to Canada, with English as a second language and a Bachelor degree from outside Canada, I was always not confident about if I were be able to work in a good company, practicing what I like to do. FairTradeWorks changed this perspective. From the get go, everyone welcomed me and treated me like their family. As a growing company, FairTradeWorks take along each of its employee to grow as well, to be better, more confident, and be more aware of their maximum ability. FairTradeWorks has let me express any ideas I had no matter how small it is and help me build it and make it happen. Not a lot of President would take time to sit down with an employee who just merely had an "idea". I have never been happier and eager in any of my past jobs, until I found FairTradeWorks.

Cons

Sometimes, you feel pushed beyond your limit, but when you realize this is for your own good, you will see the reason behind this.

Pros

Pros, what a joke,..... there are none

Cons

This company is run by a Brit who has little to no experience in the construction business. He has the delusion that he is running a muti- million dollar corporation. This company has so many rules and regs that it made my head hurt to read their policy manual. The other so called reviews on this site are all BS, the company tells them to write a good review. The only people who seemed satisfied were the few people who had there nose browned by the owner. I was expected to lie to the client about their project. mostly because they were 6- 8 months behind in paying their sub-trades. Sub trades who would stop working till they got paid. They only do small renos, because they have no rep to get larger jobs. Not only were we expected to take on a large work load, but were pressured to do do sales as well. Stay away from this Micky- mouse company and safe yourself a lot of heart ache

FairTradeWorks Response

Hello, At FairTradeWorks we appreciate ALL feedback. It is why we have 1 and 3 month employee reviews along with lengthy annual performance reviews. It is also why we have client surveys at the end of every project. However, dealing with anonymous complaints that we can neither investigate, validate or defend is not something we cannot engage in. Instead, we encourage interested team members to come talk to current staff/trades/clients themselves. It’s the most fair way of evaluating the truth about any corporation. Kind regards, Sofia (HR) 604-264-7366
