Factal is less than three years old but it's got the DNA of its predecessor - Breaking News, which was a great team and product. It feels like they're getting the second act exactly right - the communication and transparency are great, the hiring is careful and there's been almost no turnover, and the people are connected.

Factal makes a breaking news product - no matter what position you're in, you're likely to see some bad, heartbreaking news each week.

- Developer salaries are far below market rate - Most of the team lacks experience - Poor benefits that were made worse without warning (unlimited PTO was removed in favor of slowly accruing PTO with no payout) - Most developers hired are inexperienced and the few experienced devs are left to pick up the pieces or train them - Lots of useless meetings (eg. multiple hour long meetings discussing what a pull request is, and how to write a ticket)
