Flexible but no oversight - Analytical Chemist FOI Laboratories Employee Review

A flexible position that allowed me to develop the skills I needed to advance my career. As long as you are contributing positively to the organization and being diplomatic about your contributions, it's pretty easygoing.

With it being a small business comes typical small business issues. It helps to have an entrepreneurial mindset here, and if you have the employee mindset, it may not work out for you longterm.

None that were apparent to me

The owner who has no chemistry background made decisions about laboratory operations based on his pocket book rather than good laboratory practices. Ideas were ignored unless they came from a man even though the woman with the idea had over 30 years experience in running a certified laboratory. There was also too much arrogance on the owner’s part.
