But I'm not clear what you mean about shutting down during the holidays or overtime pay on the weekends. Regarding holidays, FKA observes all Alberta and Ontario statutory holidays and also closes the office every year on Christmas Eve, reopening on January 2. Team members are paid during this closure and in return, we ask that they check their email periodically. The media team is also asked to continue checking on their digital media campaigns during the closure. This is a common practice in the industry and part of working in advertising. Fundamentally, the paid closure during the year-end holidays is a nice benefit that comes with some responsibility—but if a team member wants to completely disconnect during that time, they can use vacation days. Regarding overtime, FKA pays or banks it for all team members, which is uncommon in the advertising industry. Any team member that works more than 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week will have that time paid out or banked.
