Pros

There are not a whole lots of pros to speak to. I guess I would say salary was good (although be wary of bonuses that are dangled far in the future) and benefits are competitive. There are some very good, smart people who are lured in so working and connecting with some very smart people is a plus.

Cons

Ok, so now the advice... To anyone who is considering a job and looking to this web site for honest reviews, please do your due diligence and read through the reviews. Every time a candid bad review appears, there are multiple overly gushing reviews that flood the site to burry the bad one and get the overall rating averages up. This is my suspicion but if you look at these clues, you'll see why. Really take a look at these 5 star reviews with a skeptical eye. How many of them have a very similar voice and word usage, almost like they are written by the same person in my opinion. There are several reviews that use nearly identical words or phrases or overly use the word "awesome" which just happens to be part of a company slogan. How many of the 5 star reviews say they can't even think of one simple thing to critique - does that seem plausible? Look at other companies with great reputations and you'll see the difference. Now look at the length of employment. You'll be hard pressed to find an example of someone who has worked there for more than a year. Try LinkedIn too and you'll see the same thing. That's because the company burns through people at an alarming rate. There's no effort to retain talent or hold managers accountable who cast new employees away without a warning or reason. Often before key benefits kick in. It's so rare for people to stay long, 1 year anniversaries are celebrated company wide and anniversaries of just several years means a lavish gift. This may very well be the worst offense because it plays with people's lives. Now look up the bad press from a disastrous ad campaign. In most companies, the person responsible would be fired. At Figs, they got a promotion to SVP. Lastly, read the negative reviews and listen to those voices. They are buried between these flowery ones, but I think you'll find that they sound more true, more authentic and have specific details. Reach out to people on LinkedIn and ask them what their experience was like. You may decide it's worth the risk or decide you believe the hype. But go into it with an open eye. I really wanted it to be a great place and for a short time, I believed it could be. It's not. I witnesses some of the worst, back stabbing, favoritism, poor communication, unreasonable requests, indecisiveness, terrible instincts and down right mean behavior I have ever seen at any company. And some of the worst offenders are firmed rooted and are allowed to wreak havoc completely unchecked. The mean girl behavior is encouraged and the worst ones are rewarded.

Pros

- Woman-led business - Cool marketing campaigns - Nice office in Santa Monica

Cons

- People are constantly crying in meetings; they are so overwhelmed with work. - If you're new, no one is willing to help you out. Legacy team members ignore their newer colleagues and judge them with blatant disdain. - You'll be blamed for things that are completely out of your control. For example, if you're in finance, you might be blamed for something going wrong in engineering. It's bananas. - You're working 60-70 hours per week, as an expectation. Some people had to schedule all of their doctor's appointments in one single day (and there's no reprieve). - The environment is not supportive for families and caregivers. One woman was fired right after coming back after maternity leave. The implication is clear: You'll succeed if you put the company above anything else. - Nothing really gets done, because leadership is constantly changing their mind. Sometimes this happens mid-project, and then the working team gets the blame when deadlines are missed. - Can't speak for everyone, but my boss is a total creep. I connected with some of their prior colleagues, and they confirmed my worst suspicions. It's disappointing that a company that preaches their values would hire someone so deplorable.
