Pros
Friendly environment, bilingual workplace, room for initiative and creative ideas, variety of types of tasks and skills involved, the work was often (but certainly not always) interesting, and the cause is worthwhile.
Cons
Lack of much upward mobility for many of the staff, as positions and types of positions are limited. Also, as in any nonprofit, the salaries are not as high as one would hope in return for the level of work being done.
