Pros
People were strongest attraction to company. Many, like me, were there for over 10 years. Under staffed marketing departments yielded great opportunities for hands on experiences, yet highlighted the continuing over investment in engineering resources.
Cons
While achieving 40 years as a company in the valley is rare, it also highlights Exar's stagnation. Very successful core businesses like interface and communications perpetuated a rudderless ship. Over investment in non-growing businesses or acquisitions and under investment in core competencies kept Exar artificially small as compared to peers.
