Pros

• Strong culture based on people learning, planning, and doing for themselves (both employees and clients) • Extremely collegial atmosphere with minimal politics • Fantastic colleagues who train you well • A consulting methodology that makes sense and works • Great work/life balance (for a consulting company where you travel full-time) • Solid compensation, good retirement matching, and vacation • There is a genuine desire to help clients improve, not just to bill them • The company cares about its people and tries to provide job security (compared with other consultancies that will fire you after a month on the bench) • Total specialization in chemicals, process industries, and oil & gas will develop your network in and knowledge of those areas • Implementation specialization means the company is truly world class at implementation

Cons

• Limited upside once you hit CP2 driven by organizational size and no 'up-or-out' policy - great for somebody who wants to be a consultant, but not for somebody who wants partner-track (eg selling consulting work and leading multiple engagements) • Extremely long engagements (~1 year) can become repetitive for some consultants used to 6-12 week projects • Total specialization in chemicals, process industries, and oil & gas leaves the company vulnerable to market changes due to low diversification
