Pros

The "Mission" of the company is to bring food to people who are often overlooked. Startup environment where there is a lot of opportunity to take on assignments that would otherwise be left undone A lot of young employees who bring good energy to the company.

Cons

Everytable is a startup food company (although they say they are a tech company, there is no proprietary technology and it's obvious when you work there) that seems like a great company from the outside. But after working there for a few months during the 2020 crises my opinion of the company changed. First off....the company is publicly claiming to have increased production to some crazy number like 150,000 meals per week. Truth is, the majority of the meals the company sent out were super basic meals made for homeless shelters, elderly communities etc. The meals they send to those organizations are not the same meals they sell in their stores. They are inflating their numbers to make them seem more successful than they really are. The meals they sent to those organizations were truthfully really sad, and for a few weeks while I was there they had major problems with food spoilage. It was so common you would often hear jokes amongst staff about it when a new complaint when it was received.  The company is lucky that the individuals who received the rancid food through programs like project room key never complained on forums like Yelp. During the outbreak there were rumors floating around about positive covid tests amongst the production staff who were almost all hispanic/african american workers. Despite those rumors, the facility never shut down. They tried as much as possible to use temp workers that the company didn't need to provide health care to as well. Clueless Managers - It seems because the company has grown so fast they have people with little to no experience in important positions. They don't really know what they are doing, and they have no experience managing people, which is the most important part of being a manager. Don't expect to receive any significant job training or coaching from them, simply because they are too young to know how to do that. No HR - Following up on the lack of job training, they don't even have an HR department. There is no Director or VP of HR. If you understand the role HR plays in successful companies, you will realize how problematic this is. Lack of diversity on upper management team - ironic that a company trying to bring food into communities of color is lead almost entirely by privileged white people. They don't represent or understand the community they are trying to serve. They are more than happy to put their African American and Hispanic Chefs in as much marketing material as they possibly can though!
