Pros
Good task variation, you can do lots of different things, testing the pool, cleaning, sales calls over the phone, face-to-face sales in the form of club tours. Teaching other staff, helping them become better etc.
Good if you enjoy interacting with the public.
Cons
Have regular zooms - which can feel to some to take away from your working day.
The area managers will not step in if a Branch manager is struggling. Our gym went very much downhill under the first manager, lots of equipment broken, cleanliness standards started to slip.
I was given hours which were not conducive to sales, if I'm doing 12-10pm it's difficult to get everything done and still have time to go and do 'outreach' - this is getting out into the community and flyering, data capture, trying to build relationships etc. You need to be really organised and plan your weeks out aheads of time - something not in the culture when I was there.
