Pros

Last week marked 2 years since I joined Everest. I thought I'd share some of the reflections that I've had on that milestone. When I joined there were only three others in the Australian office and we were still debating whether we needed a fourth desk! As it happens, 2 years later we still don't need four desks but when our latest round of lockdowns end we could fill close to 30 if we were inclined, and that growth has been really exciting. I can honestly say that every meeting with my Everest colleagues is one that I look forward to. I feel like I go to work with good friends everyday and I can be myself, which is a real privilege. In my first few months I worked across number of projects, programming and doing discovery for WorkwearGroup, Xero, and others. I was able to spend a lot of time running training and coaching and experimenting with how we would grow our engineering practices. I started getting more interested in sales and marketing and those jobs went from being something that was new and a bit scary to something else that I now really enjoy about my job. I think the last couple of years has been an opportunity for me to do what I do well and what I enjoy, but also try new things and feel supported as I learn and question myself and other things going on around me. There's a lot more I want to achieve and learn, and one of the challenges in front of me is prioritising and making space to get all the things done. To a degree, that uncertainty in exactly how the next two years will unfold is exciting in itself! I genuinely love coming to work, and I love all the people that I get to work with. As we grow there will be more people that I haven't had a chance to meet - but I look forward to getting to know you if I can, and for those that I have had the privilege of working with so far - thank you for your patience and support, and for sharing your expertise and your friendship.

Cons

Being a remote-first organisation, we are well set up to cope with the rolling lockdowns and remote clients - but it does present challenges for our cultural identity and social opportunities, being aligned to Everest in Australia, globally, and with our clients and their teams. Lots of hats to wear.

Pros

Company is people first. The CTO's human aspect is on next level. He literally keeps his employee first. Work enviroment is mostly chill (Sometimes not good depending on client). Work life balance is amazing, Company don't shad away weight but train the workforce. Peace of mind Remote first

Cons

They give priority to long term stability more than salary increment. Growth is slow.
