Pros

A lot of the people who work at EMJ are great to work with and the employment process means you work with a lot of like minded people. I felt supported by the company when I went through some personal issues. The commission structure for the sales team is good and the employment benefits have improved greatly over my time as an employee at the company. The social scene is good and I did really enjoy the annual summer balls.

Cons

As a member of the sales team the management style from the SLT is fear based with daily emails ranging from passive aggressive to just plain aggressive in a way I have never experienced before. This stems from a hierarchy which wants complete control over your day to day from what you wear, what you say and even when you eat, hence why the sales team are required to be in the office 5 days per week. There were regular staff surveys but no feedback was taken on board and they were binned off without any real explanation of why. There is no training available at EMJ, beyond some peer to peer feedback the quality of which will vary depending on which groups you are put into, there is nothing external at all creating an echo chamber where the same voices dominate and nothing really changes. Just do your dials and read the script. The commission structure, as mentioned above, is good - however, the ability to make this commission will depend greatly on which therapy area you are working on so be sure to research this before joining. The sales teams with the biggest therapy will bill a small fraction of the overall value of their markets, work out which therapy area you will get, look at the value of that market to see what the real OTE is for you. Few people make quota at EMJ. There is no tech stack to support the sales efforts with the team relying on mail merges and read receipts for outbounding in 2024, meaning you will be analogue in a digitally competitive landscape. You will be expected to pay for your own Sales Nav. By the end it made me feel quite ill working here.
