Pros

- Co-workers were good people who thought they were doing good. - Well-meaning clients and families who thought they were doing the best for their child.

Cons

- Restrictive practices for non-verbal children who are forced to talk to get their own lunch or go to the bathroom until they wet themselves or are so distressed they scream for hours. It is dehumanising. - Minimal training and very low pay. - Poor Management and high turnover - ABA is detrimental and is designed to use coercive control to force autistic children into submission and into behaving the way their parents want them to. - Dodgy clauses in employment contracts that are barely enforceable in Australian law. - Threatening behaviour from management. - Minimal upward movement without significant time, money and strain.
