Pros

1. Strong exposure to DSA processes and compliance – Great experience navigating DSA approvals, inspections, and documentation, which is valuable for long-term career growth. 2. Well-documented projects – Emphasis on RFIs, submittals, and inspector coordination helps maintain high-quality records and accountability. 3. Meaningful public projects – Working on schools and public facilities gives a sense of impact and purpose in the community.

Cons

1. Work-life balance can fluctuate – Deadlines or peak project phases can require longer hours. 2. Frequent design clarifications – Plans can be open to interpretation, leading to multiple RFIs and potential rework or delays.

Pros

There are some really awesome superintendents and project managers that are patient and incredibly smart! I learned a lot about the construction industry with my field team. If you get put on a good team, you'll have a great experience! Field admins and PCs are hourly and overtime is not expected, so you're able to maintain decent work/life balance.

Cons

It's a lot of on-the-job learning and teaching yourself. Management is pretty out of touch with the field teams and the goals they like to set are sometimes pretty ambiguous and difficult to meet, Check-ins and reviews are a bit of a waste of time and it's difficult to move up without causing a big scene.
