Pros

There is not a single "pro" that can outweigh the cons of this organization.

Cons

Oh man. I'm specifically writing this review, after much consideration, for the person who might be in the interview process or in discernment towards working for Equip. You happen to think "maybe I should check the glassdoor reviews and see if there's a sign I should pass on this opportunity" - this is your sign, my friend. Read the negative reviews. They are all the same and they are all true. Notice how, after every negative review, there's a random vague positive review that says something like "GREAT COMPANY, NO COMPLAINTS, I LOVE IT HERE". Weird, right? The company prioritizes profit and reputation. They pride themselves on being different from other eating disorder treatment programs and, truthfully, they used to be. I use to be very proud to say I worked for Equip. The company has changed significantly throughout the last 18 months. I've watched dozens upon dozens of really good therapists quit. I've watched several really good therapists get fired after speaking out against Equip's unethical practices; concerns about taking on patients who are far too acute to be in a virtual care setting, concerns about lack of proper resources and trainings for clinicians who are expected to be "jack of all trades", and concerns about extreme provider burn out. Equip loves hiring providers with lived experience - every single provider I know (myself included) with lived experience has reported relapsing during their time with Equip. The pay might seem enticing, however, you - as a therapist - get paid less than other people at Equip who do not work in direct care and who aren't required to have above a bachelor's degree. Considering therapists are generally the backbone of a MENTAL HEALTH company, the compensation is low and the respect is non-existent.

Pros

Great mission-driven employees, comparable wages and decent benefits. Flexible PTO policy

Cons

Limited opportunity for growth or development, canceled onsites (of note, executives kept their several trips and onsites), company pulling back on DEI initiatives and culture opportunities, laying off pivotal leaders, company appearing to now prioritize profit over all else.
