Pros

Familiarity: Returning to my former employer provided a level of familiarity that helped me settle in quickly. I was already acquainted with the company's culture, processes, and people, which reduced the learning curve and allowed me to hit the ground running. Established Relationships: One of the major advantages was the opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues and superiors. Having preexisting relationships made collaboration and teamwork more seamless, fostering a positive work environment. Industry Knowledge and Expertise: Returning to the same industry allowed me to leverage my previous experience and build upon my industry-specific knowledge. I was able to apply my skills more effectively and contribute meaningfully to projects and initiatives. Potential for Growth: Working at a former employer presented possibilities for career development and advancement. My previous tenure had equipped me with insights into the company's structure and opportunities, which helped me navigate my career path more strategically.

Cons

Limited Perspective: While the familiarity was beneficial in many ways, it also posed a challenge of having a somewhat limited perspective. Returning to the same organization might have hindered my exposure to different work environments, preventing me from gaining diverse experiences and skills. Stagnation Risk: There was a potential risk of stagnation in terms of personal and professional growth. Working at a former employer may limit exposure to new ideas, technologies, and approaches that could be encountered in different companies or industries. Preconceived Notions: Going back to a former employer might have led to certain preconceived notions or expectations. This could have influenced my objectivity when evaluating changes or improvements within the company, potentially affecting the accuracy and fairness of my review. Burnout or Repeat Challenges: Returning to a former employer might have exposed me to the same challenges or issues that led me to leave initially. If the company's culture or management practices remained unchanged, it could result in potential burnout or frustration.

Pros

The individual employees were amazing and a true asset to the company. They were the reason things were bearable, we were all in the same boat. The boat seems to be profitable now.

Cons

Management was exhaustive, arrogant, socially awkward yet caustic, irrational, and culturally biased. It is understood that a start up starts from somewhere but when a constant stream of degradation flows from the company's figurehead you need to draw the line, like so many employees have and a co-founder. If you are running an internet based business wouldn't it be first priority to keep the internet running so your employees could do their job?
