Pros

Epic is incredibly flexible with the work schedule. They do whatever they can to allow you to maintain a work life balance with multiple options to enjoy family and still meet deadlines. Also they are constantly evolving and growing into various areas depending on the interests and skills of the team. Epic is more than a sterile work environment, it is dynamic and interactive. The other staff are great and there is a feeling of empowerment from management and flexibility that make this place great.

Cons

IT is an area that they have struggled with but have recently made some leaps in that area to promote a new culture and change this weakness into a strength. While its still an ongoing process, the outlook is very good.

Pros

Great people and flexibility, And training is improveing Epic Engineering has a strong culture with friendly, supportive people and a lot of flexibility in how you work. I appreciated the autonomy and the chance to grow, and that matches what others say in Glassdoor reviews, with employees noting “flexible work schedule,” “great mentors,” and a “friendly work environment.”

Cons

One small downside is that training and communication can be uneven, but the project managers will work with you and help you when project loads are heavy, with some employees mentioning “training can be difficult due to project load” and “wearing many hats can be burdensome.” Overall, it’s a solid place to work if you like responsibility and a supportive team.

Pros

- Direct contact with decision makers in company. - Flexible work schedule when required. - Unlimited PTO when required. - Company gives you autonomy to do your job. Micromanagement in the Civil Division is nonexistent once you prove you know what you are doing. - Company allows remote work for workers not near a physical office. - National opportunities for projects. - Pigeonholing is not likely - you have the opportunity to wear many hats. - PE examination fee reimbursement (IF PASSED).

Cons

- Training can be difficult due to project load, but if you ask, you will get what you need. - Travel may be required depending on the projects/clients you work with. - As with any other engineering job, deadlines necessitate working additional hours to complete tasks when necessary. Do not expect this job to be a punch-in/punch-out simple career. - Wearing many hats can be burdensome at times.
