Pros

Most of the people I worked with at Epic Engineering were great people and I really enjoyed my interaction with them. Through working with them I gained a lot of experience. Most of the people I worked with were happy to answer questions and help, but others made me feel like it was a major inconvenience when I asked for help.

Cons

There is very little to no training at Epic Engineering and for someone just starting their career that is a hard thing to deal with. The company owners are stuck in what worked 20 years ago and aren't willing to try suggestions to improve and update their operations. They are also slow to recognize the positive influence their employees have on their company.

Pros

Great people and flexibility, And training is improveing Epic Engineering has a strong culture with friendly, supportive people and a lot of flexibility in how you work. I appreciated the autonomy and the chance to grow, and that matches what others say in Glassdoor reviews, with employees noting “flexible work schedule,” “great mentors,” and a “friendly work environment.”

Cons

One small downside is that training and communication can be uneven, but the project managers will work with you and help you when project loads are heavy, with some employees mentioning “training can be difficult due to project load” and “wearing many hats can be burdensome.” Overall, it’s a solid place to work if you like responsibility and a supportive team.

Pros

- Direct contact with decision makers in company. - Flexible work schedule when required. - Unlimited PTO when required. - Company gives you autonomy to do your job. Micromanagement in the Civil Division is nonexistent once you prove you know what you are doing. - Company allows remote work for workers not near a physical office. - National opportunities for projects. - Pigeonholing is not likely - you have the opportunity to wear many hats. - PE examination fee reimbursement (IF PASSED).

Cons

- Training can be difficult due to project load, but if you ask, you will get what you need. - Travel may be required depending on the projects/clients you work with. - As with any other engineering job, deadlines necessitate working additional hours to complete tasks when necessary. Do not expect this job to be a punch-in/punch-out simple career. - Wearing many hats can be burdensome at times.
