Pros

Good starting pay and benefits were solid as well. Madison is a fairly cheap place to live. Great campus. Your work actually helps people (EMRs are a big deal in healthcare). If you're IS or TS, this is a good starting place. If you're a developer, well...not so much.

Cons

Work life balance is nonexistent. I was working 55-60 hour weeks regularly. Also didn't enjoy the micromanagement style at all. Questionable hiring methods as I clearly should have been a technical services guy instead of a business intelligence developer and as a result I was worried I would underperform at my job. Very stressful. Languages are outdated (Cache...WTF?) so you'll have a rough time finding another dev job if you don't keep your skills up. To be fair, SQL is also used which has some leverage outside of Epic. AND LACK OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVANCEMENT. The best you can realistically get to is Team Lead but you don't make more money (IIRC) for overseeing others.
