Pros
- good compensation, good benefits - Coworkers are great. Everyone I've worked with is competent. - Working for a large, well known software company. There's a lot of potential to move on to other large companies that pay well when you are ready. - Working on high impact software. They are the industry leader. - The cafeteria food is great. - Very stable company. Epic is not going anywhere anytime soon. If you like it, you can stay for life and retire in 25 years. - You get a lot of autonomy and privacy while working. the single-seater offices are nice compared to cubicles or open office environment.
Cons
- There are no BAs nor are there PMs. You as a developer will have to take on those roles at times. - Depending on what projects you work on, you may not be developing technical skills that are valuable to the rest of the software industry. You can spend months or years just programming in MUMPS. - The Disney-like campus is not my thing.
