Pros
Lots of agency on internal work you wish to pursue, if you are interested in something you really just need to ask about it to get involved. Given a lot of ownership early on. Collaborative Culture.
Cons
Outside of your implementation you you are really just another employee here. Some people are fortunate enough to be on smaller applications so you get more recognition and ability to take on other work in that space if given the chance. But in the end the company does not really care about turnover, losing employees or satisfaction of them. They know they will get new graduates looking for a job every year and they will continuously bring them in to churn out productivity from everything they have until they quit. Some people are lifers and look down on the idea of people wanting to leave, and if they get wind of your dissatisfaction you kind of get written off. The job has made me feel guilty for having a life. Customer IT teams will constantly miss deadlines or put together bad build and in the end that reflects poorly on Epic so it becomes our responsibly as Epic employees to pick up the slack. No one will ever recognize you for this work as it is expected.
