Pros

Coworkers are smart Pay super competitive for area/cost of living Campus is amazing Food is delicious and cheap

Cons

Pay is based on rankings done secretly behind closed doors where, if someone doesn’t like you, complaining and gossip abound. This creates an awful culture on many teams. You are told you’re a factory worker, this is one of our hills to stand on. Expect this to permeate every interaction with management/HR. Leadership is convinced you’re trying to steal from the company. They spy on you, create tons of restrictions around PTO/WFH, and treat you like dirt if you have any sort of health problems. Do not work here if you have a disability, you will be passive aggressively discriminated against. The amount of PTO was awful before covid, don’t let the sabbatical talk sway you. If you’re a developer being courted by other tech giants consider this: many of them offer significantly more PTO at the start then you will ever get at Epic. That will matter more in the long term then you think. Culture is all about the customer. You will hear in one staff meeting how amazing we are to customers then also told: you have to come back, culture matters to our sales, find childcare during a pandemic.
